comments on images are not shown on the attachment page

  Twentyeleven let’s users comment on images that are attached to a post. But those comments are not included in the total comments for the attachment page. So there is virtually no way to know the comment exists unless you click through every image. This image has 1 comment, which you can see at the bottom:

  But if when you close the image and return to the post it is attached to, you would never know the comment is there. If you view all the posts from the home page, that post shows “0” comments even though there is a comment on an attached image. There is no way for viewers to know the comment is there.
