Comments on main page
-
Hello!
I was wondering if there’s a way I can get my comments to appear on the main page, rather than having to click on a single entry to view the comments. In all the blogs I currently follow, the comments appear below.
I have already searched these forums and I know the typical response is “blogs don’t usually do that because what if there are 100 comments, that would mean a lot of scrolling” but my blog DOESN’T get a lot of comments, so that wouldn’t be an issue. Here are some examples of blogs that DO show comments:

I don’t need mine to be as fancy… I was just wondering if there’s a way I can do it. There’s got to be!
I’ve also searched the web and everybody says “use this code in your php file” but I can’t find any place to edit my php file. I can only edit the css. Help!
(I’m using “CSS Customization” as the section, but if there’s absolutely no way to do it in CSS let me know if I should move this to another section of the forum.)
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

It’s only a link if you put http:// in front of it.
The answer is, you can’t do it at WordPress.com except perhaps using the P2 theme. All other blogs that do that are not WP.com.
The CSS upgrade will not do this. There is no way to do it here other than MAYBE that theme.

Thanks. Try that theme and see. I believe it was invented to do specifically this, but it’s not one of the more attractive themes.

Thanks raincoaster. The p2 theme is definitely intriguing. Do you know if that theme also has custom CSS? Can I get the same look with that theme editing the code as I do now?
Also, my blog seems to load very slowly.. I don’t know if you experienced this, but whenever I visit the page for the first time, the background stays white for a while… and the whole look of it is very dark, so at first it looks terrible and you can’t really read the posts. I’ve tried to make the default page color (before loading) to be black, but I can’t. Any advice on that?

All themes here are adaptable by custom CSS, as long as you have the skills to edit it. But if you don’t know CSS, don’t buy the upgrade; you’re totally on your own. You can play with the free preview to see if you can get what you want done.

The loading issue you’ll find is a WP.com wide phenomenon, probably tied to an attack on WP.com which is ongoing. There are lots of threads on it already under various names.
