comments on my blog

  this morning I had about a dozen e-mails from various people with comments on various of my blog posts…the messages were not at all related to my posts…lots of mispellings and gibberish…when I checked my stats no one had read any of these or any of my posts…………what is this and what should I do…..will trashing it make it stop…what’s up?…thanks…..

  Hi @kmahss! Sorry about the trouble, and thanks for reporting the issue.

  You can control whether comments are automatically approved or if they need to be reviewed before they are published by changing Discussion Settings:

  https://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/discussion-settings/#before-a-comment-appears

  Also, please mark those comments as spam instead of just deleting them. Our Akismet anti-spam engine tries to learn from the pattern of comments that are marked as spam. For more information about dealing with unwanted comments, visit:
