Comments on new site not showing up

  I started a new blog site 2 days ago. I received 2 comments for which i did get by email, but they don’t show up anywhere on my site. Also I would like to respond but I’m afraid if I respond from my email, the other party will have my personal email address. Please help!

  Hi,

  You will need to follow the link in your email to get to the comment on your blog and approve the comment before it shows up on your website.

  From the admin dasboard, click on the comment section to view the comments and approve the comments you will like to see on your website.

  Thank you for your response temitayoadegoke. I followed the link in my email, it didn’t take me to the comment on my blog, nor to anywhere to approve it. I clicked on the comment section and it says “no comments yet”. I’d be happy to approve the two comments, but they just aren’t there! Anybody else?
  I tried logging out and back in again too.

  Hi,

  If you checked the comment section from the dashboard and didn’t find any comments,It is most likely that the comments have been deleted by the people who wrote them initially. That is the only logical explanation.

  Another way to confirm if there is really a problem with this is to drop a comment of the blog and see if it shows up in the comment section, if it does then there is no problem with this and my suggestion was probably right.

  I hope you find a way around it.

  Thanks so much again for the good idea. I tried it and my own comment does not show up in the comments section off to the right, but it does show up, at least I can see it, in the space where I typed the comment. Seems there is something wrong.

  Hi submissivespankedwife,

  I’ve checked your site and the only comment I can see is a test comment you submitted — which is displayed on the post itself. So that appears to be behaving as expected.

  Would you mind if I left a comment so I can do some testing?

  of course not, please leave a comment as a test. another person left 2 comments which I got email notifications for, but I couldn’t find them. I couldn’t find my own comment in the comment section in the upper right either under comments. Thanks

  Thanks — I left a test comment on your site and it came through to your Comments area after I approved it, so that is working as expected.

  It would be great if you could let me know when you next receive an email notification, so I can try and see the problem in action.

  Hello all!
  I noticed that some of the comments I approved and replied to under the posts on my blog don’t show up. I can see them in my dashboard (they are approved and replied to) but they are not visible on my website.
  What can I do? :(
