Comments on own blog?
-
Hello all- quick question.
When writing a new post, i sometimes link to an older article or page on my blog. However, this link shows up as a comment on the original post, written by me.
Is there a way to link to my own pages/posts without it showing up as a comment on that post?
When I first found this happening, I tried to delete the comment, but inadvertently wound up deleting the entire page & had to re-create it :(
thanks for any feedback,

@douglaskev, that’s strange. How are you putting the links into your posts? Check these FAQ’s:
http://faq.wordpress.com/2007/07/01/how-to-write-links/
http://faq.wordpress.com/2008/09/09/how-do-i-add-links-to-other-sites-using-the-html-or-visual-editor-screencast/@sanjeevyadav, thanks for your helpful contribution to the discussion.

Actually, it’s not strange. There is an abbreviation you can use which avoids it. See this thread https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/pingbacks-in-internal-links?replies=1 (I couldn’t locate it in the FAQ but I could have sworn it was there.)

thanks for the helpful links. it seems more complicated than i thought. i suppose ill just let it be for now.

It’s really very simple to link to one of your own previous posts, just remove the http://
Your blog address is
http://socialjusticenow.wordpress.com/
and to make a link to a post without a pingback, for example:
`socialjusticenow.wordpress.com/2008/11/22/policies-for-people/’ -
@douglaskev-Yes, make the link to the previous post a relative link and not an absolute link.

Dashboard > Comments > check-mark the box beside the comments you want to delete
Or click delete to the right of each comment to delete one by one.You can’t delete comments you made on someone else’s blog. Best you can do is to ask the blog owner to delete those comments for you.
