comments on pages
-
Hi, I would like to include a comment section for every new post on a page (not the homepage). When I tried to insert a comment on my latest post on the Indie Ink Challenge page a comment form appeared, but with MY information already inserted in the fields. I don’t know to to get rid of that unwanted info. Could you please help me?
Thank you!
Amy
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I don’t see any pages on your site. Please post a link: http:// etc to the page you are asking about.
I’m not sure by what you mean
comment section for every new post on a page (not the homepage)
You can’t post on pages except for the dynamic home page:

posts and pages are different things. -
Hi,
sorry it’s for this site: 3to9travels.wordpress.com.
the page is http://3to9travels.wordpress.com/inde-ink-challenge/
I managed to get a form under my most recent “post” on that page but all comments are showing up at the bottom of the page and not under the “post.” Any way to remedy that?
Any geeks who can help me????? -
Thank you for the link. You are asking about two different issues.
1. A.) You can not post to pages. You can add paragraphs or sections to a page, but it will still be information that is on only the one page. The comment section of a page will always appear at the bottom of that page.
Please read the link I have already given you about the difference between posts and pages. They are very different structures: http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/
Here is another article about the difference:
http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2010/06/30/posts-on-pages/1. B.) How to solve the problem? You need to make a category called “inde ink challenge” then write your posts on that topic on your home / front / blog page and assign them to that category. Use a custom menu for your navigation bar on top to have a link to that category. That way, any post you make on your home page which is categorized as “ind ink challenge” will be available for your readers to comment on, one by one.
a note which is a sub-set of #1:
categories and tags work the same way in terms of WordPress global tags (and for search engines as well) so you should not use the same words for categories as for tags:
for example, on your post “Battlestar Galactica Redux” it is not necessary to have both categories and tags called ” battlestar galactica, gender roles”2.)
Challenge page a comment form appeared, but with MY information already inserted in the fields. I don’t know to to get rid of that unwanted info.
That information appears to you because you are logged in to WordPress.com. It will be different for another wp.com user who is logged in to wp.com and had previously commented on your blog: it will be their own info. For a commenter who has never commented on your blog they will have to fill in their own info.

OOPS! forgot to include a link to the support document about categories vs tags:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/categories-vs-tags/This is a lot to digest, but I hope this helps.
