Comments option not accessible

  Most of the pages on our blog are supposed to have comments enabled, but in all or nearly all cases, one encounters either “Comments Off” or “Comments are closed”, and on none of them does it seem possible to post a comment. I’ve got the “Allow Comments” box checked on the various pages, but no go.

  Suggestions, ideas?
