comments out of context

  Hi,
  I keep getting comments on my posts that are completely out of context. I had one talking about diapers !! Is there something wrong with my account ?

  Smells like spam.

  Akismet, which is active on all of WordPressdotcom, is really very good at identifying spam comments and putting them in the Spam folder. Spammers do change tactics from time to time so there is a learning curve involved for Akismet when they do.

  If the spam comments are in your Spam folder, then Akismet is doing its job. If you find those comments in your Pending approval folder is when you can help by marking those spam comments as spam so that Akismet learns.
