Comments, Pages, new interface

Your new interface has made managing my site more difficult.

My site is interactive with readers commenting daily. I periodically review comments to identify language et al. The old interface allowed me to sort by commenter so that I could look for trends and determine if I needed to ban a commenter. I can’t do this anymore.

I rely on multiple pages to break down the many offerings on my site. I have 200 active pages. I used to be able to page through at 20 pages per view. Now, I have to scroll through.

I guess it comes as no surprise that I use the Classic Editor. But, if I move around through other screens, I find that your new screens are not user-friendly. Please consider allowing, long-time users like me the option to use the old screen interfaces.

    Thank you

  • Hi there,

You can still use the classic tools if you wish. As a first step, you will want to set your account to “Show advanced dashboard pages” here: https://wordpress.com/me/account

Just click the option shown in my screenshot here: https://d.pr/i/QqCdQz

Once you have turned on that option, you can visit your list of posts and instead of seeing the WordPress.com admin view, you will see the more advanced “wp-admin” view. On that page you can access the classic editor via the options shown in this screenshot: https://d.pr/i/pbLBUS

For other management functions on your site we will show the wp-admin equivalent (including comment management) whenever possible so changing this setting will address both of your concerns.

Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have any more questions.

That solved my issues. Thank you, very much.
