comments trashed

  Once again when I went to reply to a comment by Rosalee Bauchus it automatically trashed the comment. It turned red and said comment trashed! why would it do that? rothpoetry

  Hello there,

  When you say that you are replying to a comment, is it on your own site/blog or is it on another person’s site?

  If you are attempting to post on other people’s sites there could be a number of reasons why your comments are being “trashed” or deleted. Each site owner has the ability to customize commenting on their site which will result in comments not posting or being deleted. See here for more details regarding post comment settings:

  It is on my own site. As I am scrolling down through my personal comments. I click on the people to put a like on the comment. That is when it once in awhile will turn red and disappear without my clicking on anything else!

  Have you taken a look at your comment settings? Perhaps it is set not to allow “nesting”, as explained here on #4: https://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/discussion-settings/#other-comment-settings

  Also, you may be able to find the deleted comment from your wp-admin dashboard. You can access that here: https://rothpoetry.wordpress.com/wp-admin
