comments without moderation??!

I’m sorry to ask that simple question again, but i really don’t understand, what’s wrong…

Both suggestions here I tried aren’t working. I unchecked all 3 boxes where it says “Before a comment appears”, and clicked on update options. I don’t have “Users must be registered and logged in to comment” checked either.
But everytime i get comment, it’s awaiting moderatation.
I’ve also deleted my temp files, history and cookies.

I’m so thankful for any help, because i really don’t see, where is reason of that problem.

    Should be working if:

    1) Allow people to post comments on the article – Checked
    2) An administrator must always approve the comment – Not Checked
    3) Comment author must have a previously approved comment – Not Checked
    4) Users must be registered and logged in to comment – Not Checked.

I think you are saying all of this is happening, so that is a little strange. Did you change the number at the bottom about “number of links to hold comment in moderation” ?

Yes, all of those 4 things are ok. And i have’nt change that “number of links to hold comment in moderation” ? There is “0” now.
    I’m really confused… :(

Make sure you go to options > general options and uncheck “Users must be registered and logged in to comment”

as I sayd – ALL of those 4 requirements are like they should be…
(and yes, I have updated those optsions:)

Heartsmile, if you’ve done all that it sounds like there’s some other problem. You’ll have to wait for support to open on Monday and then ask staff to have a look at it for you. Sorry.

Under discussion options, make sure you uncheck under

    E-mail me whenever:
A comment is held for moderation. Uncheck this box.

Should be fine, works for m.e

    Hi heartsmile,

    You had chosen to

“Hold a comment in the queue if it contains 0 or more links. (A common characteristic of comment spam is a large number of hyperlinks.)”

meaning that every comment was being held for moderation. I’ve changed this to 2 links which is the default. That should sort you out :)

Let’s see… if that really works now, my big and warm Thanks to you !:)

I am very new to this – like 2 or 3 days and I received a ‘comment’ via email alert. I have been searching to try and work out the email and moderation thing and think I understand that depending on preferences depends on if the comment appears automatically or not. But, when I go to look at the comment in moderation mode, it is very short and cryptic, I don’t seem to be able to look at the whole message (if there is one?) and when I click on the only thing that there is to click on it automatically takes me to a website with no explanation really. Am I looking at this correctly to start with? I hope I explained this right! Also, do most people do email moderation first because of spam or do you just let comments go on your blog and then delete them if you need to? What is the ‘norm’?
    thanks
    Jan
