comments/404 error

  • Unknown's avatar

I just started deleting my own pingbacks. What I would like to ask of anyone who knows the answer, will deleting my own pingbacks found in comments generate a 404 error?

    Thanks,

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Nope – a 404 (not found) only occurs when “a page cannot be found”.

PERFECT!!! That’s what I will do.

    Thanks for your response.

Just to clarify, I delete them after they’re posted. I don’t have any other option. They automatically post when my post goes up.

Same here. I delete them as soon as they appear in the comments queue. Most appear immediately after publication but sometimes there is a time lag.

Mine don’t appear in the comments queue. They are published. It is then that I delete them. I did that today. I published my post and my pingbacks were also published. I immediately deleted them.

I’m sorry to be such a pest but after a lot of work, I’m down to only 2 404 errors and don’t want to mess that up again.

Even though I did a test yesterday by setting my test blog to full moderation, and then posted and commented, my comment was automatically posted. It did not go to moderation so I guess the vigilance theme will automatically recognize me as the administrator and post my comments.
