Committee member has passed away and we need help please

    To whom it may concern,

    May name is Nicole (Nikki) Turner, and I am the President of ABODA (WA) Inc, a not for profit organisation in Western Australia. Last year, Greg Mc Murdo stepped into the role of secretary. He created a new website for us in October of last year and has been doing a sensational job of giving us a new face and fresh ideas. His enthusiasm was endless.

    Unfortunately, Greg passed away last night at a very young age. We are devastated. I’d like to dedicate the website to Greg, but I don’t even have a pass word. We tried sharing the site when he first got it up and running. I have a wordpress account which we tried linking but we weren’t successful and then other work become of higher priority and we just kept rolling along with things. Greg was only in his late 30’s and so this was the last thing we anticipated.

    Can you please help me to find out how I can legally access the website and take over the running of it, along with making sure that other committee members have access to it, so that this can be avoided in the future.

    The minutes of our meetings are all on the website so it’s possible for you to lok at the content to help verify this.

    Looking forward to hearing from you so that we can honour Greg’s memory appropriately.

    So sorry for your loss, Nikki.

    We’ll be able to transfer ownership of the WordPress.com account to you if you could please mail us the following:

    * A copy of the deceased user’s death certificate.

    * A power of attorney or legal document stating your authority to act on behalf of the deceased, or a signed, notarized statement including:

    – Your first and last name
    – Your current contact information
    – Your email address
    – Your relationship to the deceased user
    – The action you’re requesting (e.g., “Please transfer ownership of the account.”)
