Community contribution system
-
Hi!
I want to allow any user to edit and create pages and articles of a wordpress site. But obviously, I don’t want to allow them to publish their modification. This system must send a notification when a user edit/create a page and then an editor come and aprove or refuse the modification. What’s the simples way to do so?

Hi, you can assign them as a Contributor. Here’s how to set this up on a WordPress.com site:

Thanks for your answer!
Unfortunately, it doesn’t work. On my site, contributor users can publish the articles (maybe due to one of the plugins I use but it’s weird, no one of them is supposed to do this 🤔)Moreover, my goal is to allow anyone to suggest some modifications on existing pages/articles, but without having the permission to publish these modifications

Hi @gunivers, got it — those roles generally apply to sites hosted here on our services, without extra modifications through plugins.
If you’re running your own copy of WordPress and using plugins, they could extend those roles in a number of different ways. So if you’re using a wiki plugin, for example, I’d recommend checking into its settings and roles and adjusting those.
Going forward, these forums are for the sites hosted here on our servers. If you use other hosting, there is another forum for the free WordPress software that would likely be more appropriate for this question (though again in this case I think your plugin support is your best bet). You can find the WordPress.org forums here:
https://wordpress.org/support/forums/And if you’d like more info about the difference between the WordPress software and the services by WordPress.com, we have more info here. Let us know if you have any questions about our services!
