    Did you want your home page to be static like the theme too? If so, start at https://wordpress.com/pages and add a new page. You’ll be offered several templates to choose from. You can edit these as well.

    If you choose a template, you’ll get default pictures and text. Simply edit them to add your own content instead. Then publish the page.

    Finally, make this your home page by going to My Site > Design > Customize > Front Page. Select your new page there.
