Company blog author page doesn't display some users' (Gravatar) information.
-
My company recently set up a brand new wordpress.org site and we’ve had some fun getting our Gravatars set up. We’re running a plugin called WP_Biographia which gives us a pretty little author box after each article. Along with it we run the aptly named plugin “Authors Page” for our…you know, authors page…
It’s still unclear whether the issue is with WP, Gravatar or the plugin, but out of our 9 authors, 3 do not display any data when clicked.
Unlike most Gravatar complaints, this isn’t an issue of missing images. Our photos all show up just fine, and our bios are nice and happy there at the end of each of our posts. It’s the data on our Authors page itself that is behaving strangely.
To see what I mean:
This is our main author page.It appears to work just as intended.
When clicked though, Franziska, Judith and Tine’s profiles show nothing, everyone else’s do (even if they’re incomplete). I’ve gone over their profiles on both WP and Gravatar countless times and cannot find any inconsistencies with the rest of us for whom everything is working as intended.
I know that everyone’s Gravatar profiles are successfully made, having helped build each one, that their User profiles’ email addresses are identical to their Gravatar accounts, that they’ve all selected “G” for their image rating, and all of the other standard issues that Google searches offer solutions to.
I even inspected the element on the blank web pages themselves and cross referenced it with my own, working page. It appears that Gravatar is not communicating with their pages – which is odd because I know that it is communicating with the site – as evidenced by their existence on their individual articles.
If you visit a blog post by one of those three authors, like this one their gravatar and bio show up just fine. It’s only on the authors page, and it’s only those three.
As an aside – our blog is available in both English and German versions thanks to the nifty Polylang plugin and as such not only do we have an Author page, we also have an “Autor” page – it behaves exactly the same way and has the same problem. Just thought it might be worth mentioning it. I doubt that the plugin is to blame, but hey, you never know, right?
Thanks for your help!
