    Hello.
I recently backed up my wordpress.com site though its not yet upgraded.

So currently,i choose to host my site locally so i can build it but will not want to stand the stress of starting all over again. I tried importing my backed up wordpress.com site but to my surprise, only few things were showed in fact, my page background customization, and other were not shown.

Please i would be grateful if you team would render me kind assistance in moving my entire wordpress.com siteto my local host.

    Thanks in anticipation.

    Hello,

From what I understand from your question, is that you have a local setup of your site and need assistance with importing it to WordPress.com.

Am I correct? If yes here is are the steps to import your local site to WordPress.com

Consider that this will make a replica of your site, provided you have the same theme available to use on WordPress.com (Dont worry if it’s not, you will get a lot of other themes on WordPress.com that may fit your needs.)
You can follow the instructions here https://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-from-self-hosted-wordpress-to-wordpress-com/

The customizations you make _on your localhost_ using the Customizer are saved in the database in your computer, which won’t be imported. So you will have to repeat them when you move your site onto WordPress.com.

    Regards,

    Hi crestsphere,

i choose to host my site locally

If you are working locally, it means you have a self hosted WordPress.org site rather than a WordPress.com site. For this reason, your WordPress.com site is unlikely to be an exact copy of your local site.

I tried importing my backed up wordpress.com site but to my surprise, only few things were showed in fact, my page background customization, and other were not shown.

While posts, pages, media and categories can be imported into WordPress.com, it won’t be possible to import your current theme or customisations. As @patilswapnilv2 mentioned, this would be a manual process. If you let me know which theme you are using, I’ll see if there is a version compatible with WordPress.com.
