Complete website reset

Currently our company’s website (www.cbstaxpro.com) is very unorganized and outdated. It is associated with WordPress as well. I was going to just revise that site, but it would be easier for me to start fresh with a new wordpress account. If I create this site (www.cbstaxpros.wordpress.com) to look and act how I want… can I just transfer the other domain into this account and deactivate the old one completely? Or is there an option to 100% completely start with a clean slate on the old domain?

It looks like http://www.cbstaxpro.com is a self hosted site.

There are 2 different versions of WordPress. What happens here at WordPress.com is different from the self hosted version of WordPress.

    This guide outlines those differences:

You can certainly create a new site using WordPress.com. Once you finish it up, you would map your domain, http://www.cbstaxpro.com, to your WordPress.com account so that the domain will show your WordPress.com version of the site. Here are the steps to follow for this process: https://en.support.wordpress.com/map-existing-domain/

I’m happy to answer any follow up questions :)
