Completely locked out of admin
-
Hi there,
I have been troubleshooting this problem for the past three days and I am at the end of my tether. I am by no means a Word Press advanced user, but normally know enough to get by.
Recently a blog I manage has completely locked me out of the admin section. I can get to the login screen but as soon as I click submit, its as if the page just refreshes. There are no errors, no wrong password/username warning etc… The blog itself displays fine, It’s just the admin area.
I tried logging into myPHP and changing the passwords that way. I have tried to activate debugging mode in hopes of getting an error message. I followed other techniques like increasing the memory, changing the default theme through the wp-options table etc, and some others found in this article – http://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/locked-out-of-wordpress-admin/
Nothing works. :-(
I tried creating a new database then connected WordPress to that database. It did work after this, but obviously there was non of the existing blog content. I tried exporting the SQL in the main database and importing it into the new one, but that threw SQL syntax errors.
I’m really not sure where to go from here. The most important thing at the moment is keeping the original data, it doesn’t matter if its a new database etc.
Can anyone help me? I thank you in advance for your response.
