Completely new to this

I am completely new to this blogging stuff. I’m trying to understand how it works. If I have a MLM telecommunications opportunity web site (Cellcostzero.com) how can I use blogging/Wordpress to get more visitors specifically to this web site’s opportunity? Please explain because reading on it is overwhelming here. Bringing it to WordPress would basically have me rearrange the format of the web site and so that I would could related material related to telecommunications? Or can I write material on any topic and just hope people get interested in the opportunity even though I write about something completely not related to telecommunications necessarily?
