Completely stuck

I was trying to recover a password for a blog I started on a college email. When I left that college they deleted my email and all messages so I can’t find any authentication codes. So I tried using two other emails to try to access the blog but instead WordPress started two new blogs but I don’t like the names I used on those. Now I’m unable to start a new blog using a 3rd email address because your system doesn’t respond when I click the email verification link. How can I delete the two empty blogs and start from scratch?

  • Hi daibeclark,

Sorry you’ve had trouble getting started. Rather than starting over from scratch with a different email each time, let’s pick one account and work on that. We’ll help you straighten things out.

First, I noticed the email address on this account seems to have a typo in it. You can check that here.

The address you likely intended to use is already in use by another account. So let’s sort that out before deleting the extra addresses. Which username do you want to keep? And which site name do you want to keep?

I did discover the typo yesterday and managed to start a site whose address is daibeclarkvance.wordpress.com but today am told that this doesn’t exist. I worked on the content and layout even. I thought I’d used my gmail address to set it up but that isn’t recognized by WordPress. I want to keep that url.

  • Is this showing everything you had set up already?
    https://daibeclarkvance.wordpress.com/

If so, you can continue to edit that; just log out and log back in as the other username you’d created for that site.

    You can sign out here:

That’s most of it but not all — I had typed in some content. Do you know what email it’s attached to (comcast, tcm, gmail)? That’s another problem.

  • @daibeclark I can’t share the addresses here. But what you can do is log out, and try logging in using the email addresses. In many cases that will work.
