  I want to take down my blog/ wordpress site completely

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  I have a website and I no longer want to use my wordpress site. I want to know what i have to do to completely take it down so no one can view it and no search engine can crawl it.

  Quickest method is to set it to private.

  http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings/

  No one can see it and it won’t be crawled.

  Advantage is that it will still be here in case you ever decide to return which lots of people do.

  Best is to set your blog to Private

  Dashboard >> Settings >> Read >> I would like my site to be private, visible only to users I choose

  Then buy Site Redirect to send any search engine traffic to your new site – that will also train search engines to delete your old blog content

  You can delete the blog but then anyone that visits your site runs into a blank wall and you loose visitors and customers – if you delete a blog your options are very limited
