Compress images help

    I have been using compression on my images to speed up site however, when I insert pictures In my web page they seem to get compressed more and they look terrible. The compressed pictures are fine when added to the gallery though so I’m pleased with that. Is it best not to compress images when inserting in web pages but I good idea to compress if adding to a gallery? I’m running the twenty sixteen theme. Thanks
