Compression conundrum

  If this has been asked before, I was not able to find it. I want to know if I can, or how to scan, my media library for compressed or non-compressed images? Or do I need to view each image separately to determine size?

  Is there another way to compress the images in my media library and replace an image in a post, aside from going one by one?

  The next part of this question is what are you best suggestions for recommendations for image compression programs? I found a WP post that made some suggestions, but I would love some real person feedback from someone who has actually used a program.
