Compromised Privacy Settings
-
I had made my page private a few days back. I use my page for my mental health journalling and also for my research topics about mental health but yesterday I realised it had leaked. I had observed earlier too but you guys convinced me so I trusted but yesterday again I saw my posted content on someone’s timeline. I had to then delete almost everything fearing leakage and also embarrassment for my mental health journals. Disappointed. My page is private but is being read and this must be investigated because I smell hacking here. This is important for me. Do let me know.

Hi there,
According to our records, you set the site geetikawrites.wordpress.com about 4 weeks ago. I can confirm it is private now, and not visible to the public. This is what I see when I try:

To clarify, the setting from “public” to “private” is a recent one. Your site has been public since it’s launch 4 years ago.
I had observed earlier too but you guys convinced me so I trusted but yesterday again I saw my posted content on someone’s timeline.
This is our first record of you reaching out to contact WordPress.com support so I’m not sure I understand. Did you find help for your WordPress question in some other venue we are not able to see?
I can confirm your site is not hacked, and I do not see any suspicious activity. However as I’ve mentioned, the site has been set to private only recently, so any content you published prior to that period would have been visible to anyone that visited your site. There is nothing we can do about that since the site was set to “public” during that period.
