Concern about Upgrading My WordPress

    I am currently using WordPress 4.5.4. And I am experiencing virus issues. I am planning to upgrade it to WordPress 4.7. However, I am worried about messing up my original site.

    I was wondering:
    1) Is WordPress 4.5.4 vulnerable to virus attack? Would upgrading it help? Any people here with similar experience beforehand?
    2) Is there any known issue about upgrading from 4.5.4 to 4.7?
    3) Are there ways to restore to the original version if I encounter any problem after the upgrade?
    4) Are there any “safer” ways to upgrade it?

    It looks like you are working with a self-hosted WordPress.org site instead of the WordPress.com-hosted version supported here.

    With that being said, I would always recommend keeping your WordPress files, themes, and plugins updated. You could use a backup plugin before you upgrade or also check with your hosting provider to see what backup options they offer.

If you cannot find anything that works, you can start your own thread. The forums are completely separate from each other, so you will need to register an account there if you haven’t done so already.
