concerned re email received stating my domain has expired

    I have received an email that looks as if it could be from wordpress but with an email address of (email visible only to moderators and staff). The email says you have tried to take a payment and it has failed and that I must renew now…

    to me it looks dodgy – but that said I only recently took over this website and i would be in trouble if it disappeared… can anyone advise if I do have anything needing renewal – I cannot see anything in my account page….

    Hi there, is gbpc517665060.wordpress.com the site you need help with? That site address never expires.

    If it isn’t that site, what is the site’s address? Once we know that we can better advise.

    Hey there @glyndebeddingham – our volunteers can’t see the email addresses, but I can see it. I’d agree that email is suspect and should be ignored. Thanks for checking in with us.

    Do you have any upgrades or domains here with us? I don’t see any on this account, but generally speaking if you’ll log into WordPress.com using the email address a real renewal notification is sent to, you’ll be in the right account.
