Concerning email notifications sent to followers

Can I choose which posts send email notifications to my followers rather than having my followers receive e-mail notifications per each and every post. Better yet, is there an advanced settings for notifications so that I can adjust who gets what notifications from my blog. I will be posting nearly 5-15 post a day and would rather choose what notifications are sent then spam all my follower’s emails with 5-15 emails per day. What would be perfect is to allow a click box on the post edit screen that says “email to followers” that way I could do all my post but only select the ones that will send a notification to my followers. I hope my examples are helpful towards my question and what I am trying to achieve in my web-site. Thank you so much for your time, and I look forward to learning how to solve this issue at hand.

    Hi Scott,

Currently, there isn’t a way to moderate which posts are sent to your email followers or to select which followers each post is sent to. All posts will be emailed out to all of your followers. The only way to prevent a post from being emailed out would be to publish it as private:

    http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/post-visibility/#private-post

Another option would be to use a third-party service like Mailchimp for your email newsletter. You can read more about Mailchimp integration here:

    http://kb.mailchimp.com/article/how-to-add-a-mailchimp-signup-form-to-your-wordpress-blog/

That would allow you to send newsletters to segments of your readers and select when and how often those emails go out.

Let me know if you need anything else!
