configuration name server records

    Hello,
I set the worldpress’ dns at my italian registrar.
I really do not understand what I have to do to fix the problem ‘name server records should be configured’…

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • I am seeing https://silviacaligaris.com/ point correctly to your WordPress.com site.

It can take 24-48 hours for domain/DNS changes to propagate throughout the internet. It typically happens faster than that, but it really depends on your ISPs update frequency. If you are still not seeing the correct site appear after 48 hours has elapsed, please contact me again.

Also, do let me know if you have further questions or if anything is unclear.

Thank you but the problm is not my own my friend's web site:sanjuincucina.it

Registrar's people told me that the problm is with wordpres, not ther. I set (and they cjecked) the right dns two weeks ago…

  • I see the nameservers for sanjuincucina.it pointing to WordPress.com. I’m not sure why the domain is not pointing here. Despite what the registrar told you, the issue is on their end of things. Ask them if they have any other forwarding or custom CNAME or A records set up. Those could be messing things up. Or ask them to try resetting the nameservers again.

I realize this is frustrating, but we have no control over the DNS of a domain that is not registered here.

    Hi,
I think (hope!), I have found th problem.
In my wordpress page I have found that the A for sanjuincucina.it points to 195.110.124.133 that is register.it’s.

What should I insert in to point to wordpress?
    Thank you

  • The best way to map a domain to a WordPress.com blog is to set your domain’s name servers to the following values:

    NS1.WORDPRESS.COM

    NS2.WORDPRESS.COM

    NS3.WORDPRESS.COM

However, if your registrar requires that you create A records, please note that our IPs change over time. Because of this, your domain might stop working at some point in the future. If that happens, please get in touch with us to find out the most current IPs and then update your A records, accordingly.

If you still want to map your domain using A records, please be sure to create two records using these IP addresses:

    192.0.78.25

    192.0.78.24

For more information on mapping a domain, please follow this link:

Sorry but I do not understand.

I set the dns with the ones you gave me and I asked the registrar (it is mandatory to give them) to use these IPs, and they did.
    But it did not worked.

so, the registrar finally checked and told me that the problem was that the A record set in wordpress was wrong ( 195.110.124.133) because it is their.

But, if I change this A record with 192.0.78.25 it still doesn’t work…
Which is the A record to set?

    Thank you

  • If you are having trouble getting the IP addresses to work, I would suggest that you use the nameservers.

no, please. It is a real nightmare.
For my registrar it is MANDATORY to set both dns and IP adresses. And they are working for two others website I have with the same registrar (and wordpress).
This is the only one (since two months!) that does not work. Is there a way to help me? could you check what is the problem and help me to fix it?
    please…

  • Do you mean that you are trying to set both a nameserver and an IP address? That is highly unlikely to work. You should be using one or the other.
