Configuring recent posts widget

  Is there any way to configure the number of posts that show up in the Recent Posts widget? I’m using Regulus and I don’t see any options.

  No, that widget isn’t configurable yet. I’m sure I’ll add something to it in the near future.

  You have pulled up a back-dated thread. The recent post widget is configurable and can be set to show up to 15 posts.

  I was wondering if there is a way to edit this widget to post something like the 6th through the 10th most recent post? So my page would show the first five most recent posts (posts 1-5), and the recent posts bar would show the five most recent posts after them (posts 6-10).

  This would keep them from being repeated on the front page and allows for more posts to be seen on the page without taking up as much space. Is there a way to do this?

  I’m sure it’s in the sidebar.php file, where it reads

  php get_archives(‘postbypost’, 10)

  If I change that 10 to read something else, it should work. I’m just not sure what to change it to.

  I’m sorry but we are not allowed to edit the php in our blogs. This prohibition applies to both our theme templates and to the widgets. As wordpress.com is a multi-user blogging platform if you could do this then all other blogs would be likewise effected.

  I’m not talking about a blog hosted on the multi-user wordpress server (like myname.wordpress.com). I’m talking about the wordpress CMS that’s installed on MY private server (www.ryanscottottney.com/home), so it would only be me who’s effected.

  Well I guess you didn’t read the sticky post “Please read me first” at the head of the forum then https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic.php?id=3700 and thus didn’t know that you are in the wrong support forum. As we run on different software we only provide support here for wordpress.com hosted blogs.

  The correct forum for self hosting bloggers who have installed wordpress.org software is http://wordpress.org/support and that’s where you will have to post your question.
