Go to this page https://wordpress.com/me/notifications/subscriptions in the meanwhile and take the temporary measure provided there at at the bottom of the page.

    _ Block Emails
Block all email updates from blogs you’re following on WordPress.com
    Then save notification settings.

  • Hi there,

It looks like someone might be using your email address to sign up for multiple blogs. Looking at the number of signups per minute it appears that they’re using a bot to do this.

It looks like currently you’re maxed out on the number of pending subscriptions, so whoever is doing this won’t be able to subscribe you to any more sites and you shouldn’t receive any more emails. This means you don’t need to block notifications and you’ll still receive updates from sites you subscribed to yourself, but you won’t be able to subscribe to any new sites.

If you want to subscribe to a new site you’ll need to first remove some of the pending subscription, so you can receive a confirmation email for a new site. You can remove pending subscriptions here:

    Status

I suggest you give it a week or two. Once this spammer realises they’re not able to subscribe you to any more sites they’re likely to stop trying.
