    I just tried to create a word press account and only want the free one . Your site uses many prompts to encourage paid upgrades. I am trying to get conformation that I only signed up for the free site. My initial intention is to follow a blogger writing on wordpress.com.

    Please confirm that I will not be charged for my sign up as a wordpress.com user

    I can confirm to you there is NO charge to create a wordpress.COM blog.

    I own several blogs.

    Just make sure that you do create a WORDPRESS.COM blog. Any others, will charge you. But remember it doesn’t charge you right away. You need to put in credit card numbers, and confirm it yourself.

    That’s true but do note that you do not have to respond to any of them. As 2009fire15 said do not provide any financial information and you cannot be billed for anything. You can create a successful blog here without purchasing a single upgrade.
