Confirmation email screwup
-
Hi there, don’t know where else to ask this. I just tried to set up a wordpress.org account (not this .com account), but I mistyped the email address as @aol.co.uk, instead of @aol.com, as it should’ve been. I’m now stuck needing a confirmation email for an address that doesn’t exist. Any way you can sort this out? Thanks.
WP.com: Yes
Correct account: YesThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
The easiest thing to do is create another account with the correct email. You’ll have to pick a different username, though.
Also, if you create a new account, you can post in their forums, and the moderators there might be able to help you correct that email typo.

Hi, thanks for replying.
I’ve given it another go with two separate email addresses (one AOL, one Hotmail) and I’m not getting confirmation emails for either of them when registering a new account. Struggling to find any point of contact besides here to get support from WordPress. Thanks for your time and help.

Hi there,
Interesting…have you checked your junk mail, making sure that the emails didn’t end up there?
-
Yep, nothing there. I can set up wordpress.com accounts fine, those emails come through. .org confirmation emails still no good.

I’m not sure what could be causing this. I found this email that you can reach out to
(email visible only to moderators and staff). It’s their Privacy Policy contact email, but they should be able to forward you to the right person for assistance.Hope that helps.

That would be brilliant, thankyou. Only, instead of an email address there, that reads as “(email visible only to moderators and staff)”. Any other way you could get that to me?
Thanks again

Hi there,
The email Darnell shared above is dpo[at]wordpress.org but I actually think the better place to ask is forum-password-resets[at]wordpress.org. That will connect you to the WordPress.org forum moderation team, who should be able to help you with this.
