Confirmation link for changing email address doesn't work

  Hi, I have created a new blog and a new email address (Gmail) for my blog. However, idiot that I am, I entered my email address incorrectly at the start-up of the blog. I have tried to update my email address to the correct one and I have received the confirmation link. But when I open the link, it just sends me to an ad page for WordPress, there is no further instructions, and when I refresh my blog’s settings, it just says that my email address is not confirmed, with a message in italics saying the update to the correct email address is pending.

  Please help, I have tried to update this 4 times, and every time I receive the confirmation mail with a link, but the link just leads to the ad page.
