Confirmation screen prior to publishing
-
I (and a number of my blogging friends) have mistakenly hit the publish button before our posts are actually ready. The only choice (that I know about) to counteract that is to immediately change the status to private. But that still leaves you with the original publish date and time. Oftentimes, that is not the desired date and time. A simple fix would be to have a confirmation screen pop-up asking if we are sure we want to publish. Very simple. Gives peace of mind. Otherwise, I am forever taking great care to not press the publish button (apparently this is much harder on the mobile app – as another one of my blogging friends just found out). Any thoughts?

I have done wheat you describe more than once. I don’t set the post to private I just keep editing it after the accidental publication.
I think the best way to prevent this right now is to get into the habit of setting every draft post to “private” and then change that setting to “public” when you are ready to publish.

Hi, timethief. You are johnny-on-the-spot, as the saying goes :) Thanks for your quick reply. Yours is a good stop-gap solution. Fingers crossed, though, that the WP magicians might think about including this on their list of wished-for items.
By the way, probably totally inappropriate to leave this here (and apologies in advance), but I’m hoping you received my private thank you email last week …
