Confit Theme does not display properly on tablets

I have gotten numerous complaints that my blog (using the Confit theme) does not display properly on tablets. How do I notify the theme developers, or what can I change about my CSS to fix this?

Note, the theme works perfectly on mobile (since it switches to a theme that is mobile-specific). So is it possible to make my blog use the mobile theme for tablets?

Confit is a responsive layout theme. See here http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/features/responsive-layout/ Know that responsive width means the layout adapts depending on the size of the device being used to view your site. When responsive width themes are viewed on mobiles sidebars appear below the posts in order to provide as much space as possible for reading.

The mobile theme is a completely different theme. When you use a responsive layout theme you disable the mobile theme. Go to > Appearance > Mobile and disable the mobile theme

  • It looks like you have the stripped-down mobile theme enabled. As timethief pointed out, Confit is already a responsive, mobile-ready theme, so you can try disabling the separate mobile theme by clicking “No” next to “Enable mobile theme” under Appearance > Mobile:

I deduced there was a problem in my custom css. In fact, the stripped down mobile theme is what I want, but I would prefer to have a version like that for tablets as well. I am also considering switching to a different theme.

  • OK, gotcha. Just let us know if we can help in any way.

The special mobile theme does not display on tablets, as you probably noticed – it’s only designed to display on small devices, like phones.
