Conflicting WP page slugs

    I am having issues with page slugs. I understand the premise and purpose and have looked for solutions to my particular problem. I’ve found some helpful insight, but none seem to help in my situation. I’m trying to be methodical in my explanation, so it’s a bit long-winded.

    I currently have two different pages on my website for two different podcast episodes each week (I integrate using Bluehost and Blubrry). The first episode is an interview, and the second is a discussion about the interview. The slug for the first episode (interview) is ‘episode_number,’ and the second episode (discussion) is ‘episode_number_d.’ An example: 014 (interview) and 014d (discussion).

    Currently, my interview episode for episode 14 is https://lifeasleadership.com/014-2 (I want it without the ‘-2’). This means there is an ‘014’ elsewhere. So when I type in the 014 slug, it takes me to the second (discussion) episode: https://lifeasleadership.com/014d. However, the slug of this second episode is, in fact, 014d. Somehow, it seems that the slug ‘014’ is connected to ‘014d,’ despite the fact that ‘014’ is not the actual slug.

    How can I undo this double-designation for my second (discussion) episode so that it is ‘014d’ and my first (interview) episode can be ‘014’?

    Also, I’ve noticed that some people have mentioned to check the All Posts–>Trash, but I don’t have any posts in the Trash.

    We can help only with the websites hosted on WordPress.com. You have a self-hosted website hosted on Bluehost.
