Hi
I just registered a domain on wordpress as sendmei.com but am so surprised the site is still coming up as sendmei.wordpress.com.
could you please explain why this is so even when I have paid the yearly subscription of $18The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

http://sendmei.com/ – loads fine for me – it can take 24 to 72 hours for changes to reach the far corners of the internet and you will be the last one to see the changes
Try clearing your browser cache & forcing a page reload – if that does not work, a long walk to your favorite latte place can also help (just takes time) :)
-
@auxclass, thanks for your response. please did you say it load fine for you, still like a dream as it not loading for me rather what I am seeing is sendmei.wordpress.com
@timethief the URL starts with http://sendmei.com
Cheers -
Loads fine – don’t mess with anything, take a walk – I kid you not!!

You be welcome
Plugin’s are not allowed at WordPress.COM, it is a security and reliability issue. You have a ton of Widgets that standard WordPress.ORG install blog don’t have, many of the Widgets started as Plugin’s

There is no FTP access and no plugin capability on free hosted WordPress.com blogs.

http://en.support.wordpress.com/plugins/There is no upgrade you can purchase that changes anything at all stated here http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/ FTP access, and plugins are available only for VIP bloggers http://vip.wordpress.com/our-services/ or for those with WordPress.ORG installs.

Yes, but as auxclass noted, there are lots of widgets and shortcodes (all very safe, secure, and unlikely to bring down your website) which have many useful functions.
The question is: what do you want a potential plugin to do?
We cannot use them (plugins) on WordPress.com, but there are lots of functions we can use here with free hosting.

This issue is being addressed via another support request:
does not work / never works – just dumps people back to the main support forum – so the OP either needs the secret handshake or they are way out of luck for getting help
have seen the dump to the forum many time the last week or two

@pmciano
I’m with auxclass. It’s annoying when we experience a null link because these threads are expected to be a community resource and we Volunteers search before we post answers into threads like this one. Worse still we have the same blogger posting into two threads now. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/web-verification?replies=7#post-1489089 -
Hey auxclass and TT,
They aren’t null links, but links to private support threads that the user has also opened. Only the OP and staff can see them, so the OP, honestly, won’t realize anything is different about the link when they click through on them.
Since the user opened a private thread, pmciano continued it and posted here to aid the OP in finding it, in case there was confusion on where to find the reply.
Thanks for the feedback and I’ll bring it up at the next team chat.
