    I recieved an email about my domain name being locked. I googled it and it seems that I requested to lock it. I emailed support for more of an explanation but I wanted to ask if being locked on my domain name is good or bad?

    I’m sorry but IMO you need to get your answers from Staff and not from Volunteers on this issue.

    Newly-registered domains are locked by default. This is a good thing, because a locked domain can’t be transferred to another registrar.

    The lock exists to make transferring a two-step process and ensure that when you initiate a transfer, you do intend to make the switch. Domains are property, and regaining control of one you have lost can be expensive.
