Confused….

A while ago I added the email follow widget to my site. It says I have 185 people following via email. Here’s where I’m confused. When I go to my stats page it says I only have 4 email followers. What happened to the other 184 unique email address, and why are they not showing up?
I’m working on focusing people to sign-up via email and not through the WordPress.com FOLLOW button – I don’t want that feature available, I need email address followers as my most prefered.
Can you help me understand where all my unique email address are and how I can get ahold of them?

Are the 4 you mention “email only followers”? If so, these are either non-WordPress.com members following your site, or WordPress.com members who weren’t logged in to their accounts when they signed up as followers. You won’t see the email addresses of WordPress.com followers in your stats, but you should have them in your email account. It’s a little bit odd. Why not have every follower’s email address in the stats?
