Confused…..

  I want to start again because I’m so confused, but I don’t want to lose my domain name. What happened: I looked at setting up a blog yesterday but couldn’t get past giving my postcode (UK). It said the format was incorrect, but that was only because it wouldn’t let me enter more than a letter and two numbers, so I just left it. Today I had a look and suddenly the blog mysteriously seems to be all up and running despite my not having set it up or selected to go ahead. Questions:
  1. I really want to make sure that my personal data and registration information is kept private and ticked that box yesterday, but haven’t paid anything, as I wasn’t directed to a payment page at that time. I have no idea where to go to get that service set up. None of this makes sense!!
  2. What is the difference between my username and my domain name?

  I’m not seeing a domain on this account/website. Do you have a custom domain name registered? (I can search for it if you reply with the domain name.)

  Your username is the name by your post here (artbean789), and I don’t see any payments made on this user account.

  Let me know if you have any questions or if there is another account or a domain name I should look into! :)

  Hi Sarah, well, I tried to set up a custom domain name, carolinereevegreene.com, but I couldn’t enter my postcode as it would only let me enter the first three letters and numbers: I continuously got a red message telling me what format I should be using (letter, two numbers, number and two letters), just after I’d enter the first part of it. So finally I had to quit in the end. Then the next day I logged into WordPress and weirdly, lo and behold, there was a blog site in my name but with WordPress.com on the end.
  Secondly, the important thing was also to set my account so that my registered details aren’t readily seen and available. I selected that option, but as I said, a) I couldn’t get past the postcode issue and b), I wasn’t taken to a payment page to pay for that service.
  In a nutshell I want the custom domain name and I want the privacy service.
