Confused about Google listing and Blogs

I have been here at WordPress for just 8 days. My blog is listed in Google and Bing (was listed within 2 days). But, i am confused about Google listing as i can be found in Google Search, but not in Google Blogs. Is getting your blog listed in Google Blogs different to getting listed in the search? Does it take longer, or will my blog never be in Google Blogs? I assumed that as they have listed me i would automatically be in Blogs also. I can’t find the answer to this anywhere.Thank you.

I don’t know what you are referring to. If you have verified your blog with the three major search engines then you have covered the basics. If you have search engines questions they must be directed to Google, Yahoo, or Bing, etc. as appropriate.

Thank you, but i have not verified anything. I don’t know what you mean by that. I just blog. What i am referring to is that i can be found in Google Search but not in Google Blogs, which is where everyone goes to search for blogs on whatever subject they are looking for. Google Blogs is the orange symbol with the white letter B, which i assumed is on everyone’s tool bar. Surely someone knows what i mean?? Thanks anyway.

It normally takes 4 – 6 weeks for our blog posts to begin to appear in Google search results. The blogs with the orange symbol and white “B” are Blogger ie. blogspot blogs and Google owns Blogger.

Type “site:therestlesspoet.wordpress.com” (without the quotation mark) in Google search. Click on Options, Latest (left hand sidebar). Check your results. I see latest results from your blog.
However, when I search your blog on Google Blogs using the same query, I see no results on your blog.
I would say you ignore the Google Blog search, they might ultimately sync up in the future. Your blog is indexed properly on Google.

If you look there are many many blogs there from WordPress, and numerous other places, not just Blogger. It is not just for Blogger. I think we may have crossed wires here. I am already listed in search. I think i’ll just leave this now as you don’t seem to understand what i mean and i can’t explain any other way. Thanks anyway.

It’s OK, i don’t think i explained very well i do tend to ramble a bit. I was just confused as to why i can’t be found in Google Blogs but i can be found in Google Search, Thanks all the same.

Google Blogsearch is not well-run or authoritative, really. If you do a search there, you get corporate websites most of the time instead of blogs. You can register there if you want, but it won’t really do you much good. I don’t think I’ve ever had a referral from there.

@raincoaster thank you for that. As i’m new to blogging i just assumed i’d be in Blogs aswell as the normal search, and was confused as to why i wasn’t. I just thought if i wasn’t in Blogs then i would be more or less invisible, but my referrels now from Google shows that i am not invisible. At least i know now there is no real added benefit from being in Blogsearch. Thank you very much.
