Confused about hosting ?

    I can login to wordpress.com but most admin features/functionality does not appear to work EG import/export Wp-admin etc
    I believe this is a free plan on wordpress.com Is this correct ? or is it hosted elsewhere ?

    Have looked to get tech support but upgrade options are unclear

    Hi there,

    From what I can see your site is hosted at GoDaddy, and that you have added the Jetpack plugin to your site. Because we are a managed hosting provider, we add a lot of functionality to our WordPress.com sites that are not present on a “self-hosted” WordPress site such as the ones that GoDaddy and other hosts offer.

    As a result of this, we created the Jetpack plugin to allow folks to install the same functionality on their WordPress sites as we enjoy by default here, and it requires an account with us to connect to our cloud services. This is why you can see your GoDaddy site when you log into your WordPress.com account, since it’s connected to our cloud services.

    However, because we don’t host the site directly, we don’t have any special access to it and our support team is not able to help with issues you are having on that end.
