Confused about uploading images …

I have read the FAQ at:
http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/05/29/i-cannot-upload-images/And for the life of me, I cannot figure out how to upload images. Write >> Write Post and Write >> Write Page do not have an upload tab. I tried saving an entry and going back and editing it to see if that helped. It did not. Searching the forums seems to show that people can upload images. And I’ve looked at other people’s blogs where they have uploaded. Do you actually have to purchase the 5GB upgrade to be able to upload images? Here seems to indicate that the paid upgrade isn’t necessary. Do you have to turn something on to allow image uploading?
I’m confused.
Anybody care to enlighten me?

create A Page And At the Bottom it should say upload click browse and choose the image you want some images wont upload but most do

Which browser and operating system are you using? If you’re using something like Safari or IE6, do you have another browser you can try it in, something like Firefox? Often when there are problems with the editor it’s because of a browser problem. Sometimes clearing your cache can help; sometimes using another browser entirely can solve it.

If you have any adblocking or security software, that would be something to check as well. If it still doesn’t work for you, you can also host images at a site like Flickr and import them using the import image icon (#12 below); that might be something to try, just to see if you can get any images to show up on your blog. Hope that helps.

It seems to work fine with Firefox 2.0.0.11, but I was using Firefox 1.5 and didn’t see the upload dialog. Maybe that was the problem? Hmmm…. wouldn’t have suspected that.

I’ve always used IE6 and the upload dialog (which was visible in the past) is no longer visible. I realise that I’m not paying anything for this service, but this is pretty poor.
Started up Firefox 2.0.0.8, and the dialog was there.
Thanks for the tip – that isn’t something I would have considered doing. Firefox from now on, then, I think.
