Confused about what I should do to finish mapping domains and emails

    I am an intern for a hair studio and I am in the process of switching them from their old (already deleted) site to a new wordpress hosted here. The tricky part is they want to keep the domain name (onyxhairstudio.com) and the emails attached to it.

    Right now we mapped the domain to come here and that all works fine, my only question is what to do about our account with DreamHost. That is where the email is being hosted through. I tried to delete the email addresses there and add the same ones through Zoho Mail but it said the emails are already taken (which I am confused why since I had deleted them on DreamHost). I would like to know which steps should I take now? Is deleting DreamHost (where our emails and old website is hosted) not an option if we want to keep those emails?

    And on a related note, they had originally bought the domain name through Namecheap and I am wondering if we could delete the account there and not screw everything up?

    Hi there,

    If you already have Zoho mail set up for the domain name onyxhairstudio.com, you can continue using that Zoho mail here. (When you mapped the domain to WordPress.com, all the settings for using Zoho mail were brought over with the domain so it’s all ready to go on this end.) If you’re having trouble with Zoho itself, you’ll need to get in touch with Zoho support to resolve that.

    Another option is to use our Email Forwarding service or Add Email from a different email provider. If you decide to do that and get stuck with it, please let me know!

    To keep using the domain name, you’ll need to keep it registered through Namecheap (or another domain registrar). If you cancel the domain registration, that gives up ownership of the domain so you won’t be able to use it here at WordPress.com.
