Confused between emails and WP.com account

I’m really new at WP.com and hope I can describe this correctly.

I have an account which I use email-A to register for the blogs I created. Then, I changed one of my blog email to email-B for better admin. But today, I decided to create a new WP.com account for another set of blog. Since email-B is not a registered WP.com account (so I thought), I tried doing so but it says the username and email existed!

And I just tried something else a while ago (which I think could be a big mistake!) – I created another blog under my current account and email-B happen to appear under the “Settings > General > Email address”. I tried to add another user by sending email to email-B with the hope that WP will send an invitation over and I can try to register another account using email-B. But I get this message instead “User not added. User is already registered.”

So, I’m now very confused. From what I was told by the Support team, I can have different email addresses for every of my blog under one WP.com account. So, why is it that I cannot register another WP.com account with the email address that I use in one of my blog under a different WP.com account?

I hope I’m not confusing you as well..

    Thanks.

BTW, this is what I am actually attempting to do — http://bloggersblurt.wordpress.com/2007/03/09/another-username/

But I’m stuck at the email address part of my 2nd account

    Yes, I’m confused.

You can have as many blogs under one user name as you would like. The only reason to have a blog under a separate user name (and thus, need another email address) is if you want your blogs to be separate.

You add blogs by going to wordpress.com while logged in. If you want to add a new user (and thus a new email address), log out and then go to wordpress.com.

Be careful referring to something that is so old. The information changes. For example, transferring a blog from one user to another now requires staff intervention, so those instructions are not accurate.

Oh, thanks for the reminder. I actually thought I could follow those steps.

I’ll try to explain my problem again. Under my current username (pigzpek), I have created 2 blogs. These blogs have a default “Email address” (email-A) which points to my account email (the one used to create the pigzpek account). Then, I changed the “Email Address” for one of the 2 blogs through the Settings > General > Email address field. So, now, one of my blogs points to email-B.

Then, I thought I could follow the “Transfer blog” steps by creating a new username which I could use email-B to register. Unfortunately, when I tried that, WP.com says the email exists. So, I attempted to add a new user to the blog by sending an email to email-B (hoping to get an invitation), but it says “User not added. User is already registered.”

Does this make more sense now? I’m just trying to create another username without having to create a whole new email add again :(

Switch it back to the original email A.

Then, register a new username using the email B. Then transfer the blog to the new username.

Ok.. I finally managed to get this done. Took me a long time to free up email-A. I need to remember there’s another email setting at My Account > Edit Profile.

And yes, to transfer blog requires the Support team! :)

    Thanks folks
