Confused & Burning Money

    Hi, please help!

    Here is my situation.
I am not great with online/computer stuff but not totally useless.

I am starting a new company. I wanted to secure a domain name and business email for this.

I googled this which led to me purchasing a URL and email with Google Apps.
The site and email I wanted were http://www.example.com and @example.com.

I spent $20sh to do this. Great, secured my business site.

Then I went to create my site to link to this address. I am told that to achieve what I want I need WordPress. So I go to WordPress.com and create an account.

I then am told by WordPress that I need to ‘map’ my URL. I pay my $20sh.
(I don’t now understand how I am supposed to tell my URL provider to use WordPress?)

On top of that I am then told that what I want to achieve with my website is through WordPress.org not WordPress.com… ahhhhh really?

You could hopefully imagine how I might be confused.
So what I want to know is,
    1. How do I set up wordpress.org
    2. Make it my website source for my Google purchased URL.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi,
    Hi,
You won’t be using the domain mapping on WordPress.com, so cancel that and get a refund. Go to the Manage Purchases page, look for the domain mapping, and click “Cancel and Refund”.

Since you’re going with a WordPress.org solution, please visit their site for information about setting up your site: https://wordpress.org

If you have questions, their support forum is here: https://wordpress.org/support/

If you don’t have a username at that forum, you’ll need to register before posting. For more information about the differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org, visit: http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
