confused how changing the blog page ….

  Hi,
  I am using the latest version of wordpress and have set the home page to a static page then selected a another page to be the blog. I clicked on the new Blog page to add some content into it. I added my content, saved it but nothing should up on the page. If I had a post that will show but I want to put a design, title etc.. to the top of the file.

  Is it designed this way or what is going on. I can supply pics if it’s easier to see what I am talking about.
