Confused: Published blog but unpublished pages
-
After years of blogging, I’m still confused about WordPress.com constructs. I created an account, somehow set up a blog, wrote and published blog entries, but WordPress tells me told I never published any of the 6 pages I created. How can that be? When a blog entry was published, why didn’t it go on one of those pages?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi,
…but WordPress tells me told I never published any of the 6 pages I created.
How did WordPress tell you that? Can you provide the URL of a page or two that you’ve published?
When a blog entry was published, why didn’t it go on one of those pages?
All published posts appear on the blog page, and there is only one blog page per WordPress.com site. Perhaps you’re referring to category pages. See the Category Pages support page.
The site https://brainfyre.wordpress.com/ has a number of category pages, including Politics, Publishing, and Technology. Posts assigned to each of those and other categories will and have displayed in the corresponding category pages. You may provide links to the category pages in a custom menu as described in the Category Pages support page.

Correction:
“Posts assigned to each of those and other categories will be and have been displayed…” -
Hi there,
I don’t know why the pages on your site are drafts – the only explanation is that you didn’t click the Publish button on them. But that said, posts don’t go to pages, ever.
Post and Pages are two completely different types of content, and they don’t mix with each other. So even if you were to publish the draft pages on your site, they’ll only show content you added to them in the page editor; they won’t show your posts.
You can read about the difference between posts and pages here:
If you want your posts to appear under specific headings on menu, you need to use category pages like @musicdoc1 refers to above. Please see the link he provided for more info on setting that up.
