Confused regarding hosting a site

    Hi, I want to open a site for my product but am a little confused about publishing on wordpress or some other solution. I have registered a domain on GoDaddy but have not opted for any hosting service. Now one solution is to write the code myself(will have to learn) then fing a hosting service. Or should I make it on WordPress. Now the question is, can i point it to my domain?, is there any cost on WordPress for hosting? and
    While answering consider that it is just a product information page, very basic, nothing much is needed.

    You can point an existing domain to a WordPress.com site with the Domain Mapping Upgrade:

    Map an Existing Domain

    The hosting is free, but the Domain Mapping Upgrade costs $13 a year.
